Mentoring And Creative Support
Work with me to expand and deepen your art practice in a personal, supportive and nurturing setting. Think of me as your own art school studio lecturer, but without the institution.
My approach is respectful and intuitive, open and collaborative. I engage by listening to you and encouraging reflection through questions and prompts. My mentoring and support practice is ethical, conscious and critical and works to create culturally safer spaces.
I offer support for all artists, at every stage of their practice and career.
I can support you to;
Reignite your creative practice after a break.
Begin projects and artworks.
Develop artwork through process and experimentation.
Utilise strategies for moving through creative blocks and pauses.
Realise and resolve artworks and projects.
Plan and create bodies of work and exhibitions.
Evaluate and reflect on your practice and projects.
I am available for regular and one-off sessions, as well as intermittent sessions when you need support.
I offer support for individual artists, groups and collectives in person (Sydney/Inner west location) or over video conferencing.
Over twenty years’ experience
As a practising artist, I have more than twenty years’ experience managing my studio practice, curating and exhibiting my own and others’ artworks, applying for and participating in residencies, grant writing and collaboration with arts workers and creatives as well as community cultural development and socially engaged practice.
In my role as a studio based university lecturer in fine arts for nine years, I gained extensive experience supporting artists with their practice and planning and delivering their creative projects. From seeding ideas to resolving and realising finished work, to loosening creative blocks and articulating concepts and ideas.

What to expect
In preparation for our initial session, I will invite you to provide some information and reflection about your practice as well as images of your work/visual references (previous work, work in progress etc). During our first session, I will familiarise myself with you and your art practice and how you work through discussion, questions, prompts and opportunities for reflection.
Depending on the nature of our session, I will likely offer you a collection of provocations and prompts, references for further research and/or a plan for the next steps. I will also send you a written summary of our meeting, including any prompts, research and plans.
Follow up sessions will be discussion based and include sharing of work and progress. Considered and specific questions, prompts and support will be offered.
